Birnbeck Pier

Since opening in 1867, Birnbeck Pier has been a landing stage, pleasure pier, lifeboat station, weapons research centre and a Victorian pleasure centre with its own currency! Unique in connecting to an island, Birnbeck has been closed since 1994 and is in desperate need of restoration.
